About Chris



 


A native of Iowa, Chris graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, with degrees in English and Art education.  After teaching high school for 21 years, Chris has focused her time on acrylic painting.  Chris splits her year between Clearwater, Florida, and Boulder, Colorado, where she loves to hike and bike as well as paint. Her paintings are done from her own photos taken while traveling or while hiking or biking.

Chris has maintained a studio at Stirling Art Studios and Galleries in Dunedin, FL since 2009 and is part of a monthly open studios and gallery show every second Friday of the month.  She is also a member of the Dunedin Fine Art Center. Chris also participated in the juried Boulder Open Studios for five years beginning in 2005 and is a  past member of the Gulf Coast Artist Association and Studio 1212 in Clearwater.

2006 Merit Award Member Show for "Where’s Your Aspen" assemblage of 9 small canvases in acrylic
